When I started working with this client I pitched the idea of re-doing their logo.  Not that their current logo was bad, I just felt it did not really capture what they were all about.  This was outside of the original scope of the project (I was only brought on to do the website portion of the project), but once I explained my vision for it I was given the go-ahead.  The client loved it (and I am pretty fond of it too).
